Our History
The Women’s Leadership Network of Helena was incorporated as a 501(c)6 organization on May 27, 1988 under the original name of MAFE, INC (Montana Association of Female Executives). At the time of its creation, the sole objective of the corporation was to aid, support, and promote females as business executives. It has seen varied evolutions and leadership teams during its thirty plus years of continued existence. In 2004, the name of the organization changed to Women’s Leadership Network. In 2016, the WLN underwent a rebrand as a 501(c)7 organization, opening membership and participation to women of all professional backgrounds and levels of experience, recognizing that all women are leaders in their unique spheres of influence.
Today, the Women’s Leadership Network of Helena continues the tradition of aiding, supporting, and promoting females in leadership roles across our community, state, and nation. And we look to the future with hope and ambition, fostering the continued evolution of this female-run nonprofit into a lasting and beneficial membership organization for any and all women in Helena. We are not networking; we are building a network.
