Katie Beall is a breast cancer survivor, oncology advocate and communications leader with 15+ years of experience in public affairs, healthcare communications, advocacy and policy.

Diagnosed with cancer at 34, Katie experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating healthcare and insurance—including having critical care denied by insurance. While still in treatment, she built a coalition of patients, survivors, providers and advocates that helped pass SB 516, requiring insurance coverage for fertility preservation for cancer patients. The law took effect January 1, 2024. Now, after a year of treatment and three years into survivorship, she is ignited to make change happen so people navigating cancer can access the care, healing and community they need, regardless of the ways systems fail or seem immovable. Change is always possible.

Katie has spoken nationally on oncology policy and advocacy. She also serves on the advisory board for Cancer Support Community Montana-Helena and is excited to expand in-person support to Helena.

She is grateful to call quirky, charming, beautiful Helena home. Katie’s a proud daughter, sister and aunt with an amazing partner, two good dogs and finds peace and energy in the mountains.
